Misty was born in Indiana and soon thereafter moved to Dayton, Ohio, where she later attended Bowling Green State University for broadcast journalism. Upon graduating, Misty was selected to help launch a new television station in an untapped market, thus spawning a lifelong passion for multimedia.

She eventually made her way to live television and the local newsroom where she worked as a videographer, editor, reporter, assignment editor, producer, news anchor and assistant news director.

After reading a teleprompter for wayyyy too many years, Misty decided to, of all things, go into politics. She served for five years as a staff member for a United States senator, covering a 13-county area as his representative. She established and mediated communication between the media, private sector and constituents. It was right around this time she began to perfect her fire-spinning skills. After a small stint doing the corporate communication thing in Houston, Texas, Misty moved to the Raleigh area in 2005. She wants the world to know she has a wonderful husband, a beautiful and talented daughter and two of the best dogs in the world. She also enjoys jogging and bumming at the beach with friends and family.

Hint: She’s a sucker for peanut butter and chocolate. But they have to be together. Bring her a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup (or two) and you’ll be golden.
